Japan - worst case scenario ahead

Japan's plants were built to withstand quakes and waves, but no one expected a 9.0 quake. Hindsight is always 20/20; it's easy to say now that "they should have expected something big", but until now, the biggest they've ever seen in their recorded history is low 8's. They made something capable of withstanding upper-mid 8's, and got slammed with a 9.

and here's the problem. there will always be unpredicted happenings all over the world all the time. and to always hope that theres no plant involved is somewhat naive, at least that's how I see my own way of thinking before japan.

you can rebuild cities and reproduce humans - but you can't get rid of nuclear wasted land. it may be an excuse for any coal or oil plant that blows up to say "we couldn't expect that", but not for a nuclear plant. for a nuclear plant it has to be "that may not happen", and that is just... naive.

Anyone who says natural disasters happen because of some sort of "karma" are messed up individuals.

Many people have died, and even the living have lost their families and their homes.
