I don't talk about it much anymore but I love the .hack games. Really I enjoyed the entire canon. I use the past tense, because I haven't kept up with the newer installments. Its like how I feel about Pokemon, my desire to keep up with the story waned long ago.
I'm talking about the original four PS2 games, .hack//LIMINALITY, .hack//SIGN and the .hack//ANOTHER STORY novels. It was a rich, story with many access points, each telling you a little bit more and painting another picture. That was a brilliant idea. A truly multimedia experience. The story itself was amazing too and it remains to this day one of my personal favorite concepts.
Any thoughts?
[Edit: Some veteran members may remember that this game series was the direct inspiration for the early TerraEarth fanfictions and RPG.] _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.
