A quick search on Amazon shows a few people selling the complete version - pendent and all - for under $60. There's also a copy on amazon at the moment that's complete with the guide, buuut that's running $150. |
We got in complete copies of both games for $35 each a couple weeks ago, but our DM happened to come in as they were being taken in and took both of them. Asshole. _________________

Finished Xenoblade Chronicles (I wound up massively overleveled for the final boss after grinding for sidequests and stuff; he was incapable of hurting me). I'll play the new game + eventually, but it's a pretty long game; it'll take a while before I can get back in to it.
Also just finished The Last Story. It was quite good (if cliched), and just the right length where it didn't start to drag. And best of all, level grinding is quick, simple and useful. _________________

Two fine games. I haven't played Xenoblade in a few months, so I'm debating if I should start over since I'm kinda out of it. I'm also in the middle of The Last Story, will continue after exams >.> _________________ Hey. I'm Fazermint. And I'm Juicy!

Completed the second campaign of Resident Evil- Chris Redfield. Have to say, not impressed. I wasn't a fan of Resident Evil 5... not to say I didn't spend alot of time playing it, hell yeah I did, but the story felt a little wooden at times, and, unfortunately, one cutscene and I predicted roughly what was going to happen at the end. Cut to finishing it and lo-and-behold- I wasn't wrong.
It's decent, but I wasn't impressed. Now to tackle Leon's story... which from what I hear is the best of the bunch. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. Finished Mother 3. It's just as good as Earthbound to me.
Much darker in tone, for sure. I always thought it was interesting how games that look so simplistic on the surface can be as emotional and depressing as they are.
There were some genuinely emotional or disturbing moments that stood out (spoilers hidden in a quote tag just in case people don't want to read them):
Quote: | - Flint snapping when Hinawa dies. You would normally expect the scene to end with him just pounding his fist on the ground.... but then he picks up a piece of firewood and starts swinging at people; his friends, who are trying to calm him down. In anguish, he knocks out two of them who get too close before someone is forced to knock him out too.
- There's something really creepy about returning to Tazmily late in the game, and there's almost no one there. Everyone has been drawn to New Pork City (people have been expressing a desire to leave for a while, becoming rude and distant to Lucas and each other). Houses are locked and abandoned, the town square is nearly deserted, the music is lifeless; there's a real feeling of emptiness. You wander around town, and you really feel alone.
- The Chimera Lab. Sheesh. Wandering empty rooms, seeing anatomical specimens preserved in jars; you know what they're planning to do with them, and it's creepy as fuck.
- The "Nice Person Hot Spring". A brainwashing factory with rows of people in jars, their minds being rewritten to worship Porky. There are a few people with varying degrees of brainwashing administered, but most people have succumbed to it.
- Porky Minch. Prematurely aged from time traveling (which looks disturbing enough), incapable of leaving his bed/mecha. Coughing and gasping for air every sentence or two. But he still has the mind of a child; really, his motivation for destroying the world was because he was bored. He wanted a new world where it was just him and people that loved him (however artificially). And of course, there was his final fate; forever locked in a small capsule not much larger than himself. Billions of years from now, after the heat death of the universe, he'll still be alive in that thing.
- And of course, the final "battle"; staying alive long enough for the spirit of your departed mother to get through to Claus. He's mildly distracted at first, but keeps attacking. Then he critically injures his father, who dives in to protect you.... and keeps attacking. He hesitates for a moment, a bit more distracted, but keeps attacking. Your mother pleads with him to stop, and reminds him of who he is... and he keeps attacking. It looks like he really is too far gone. And then his memories resurface; he still attacks, but at about 20% strength. He loses the will to fight. Eventually, despite explicitly being described as having no detectable heart/soul, he regains his senses.... only to kill himself immediately after, and die in Lucas' arms. His exact reasons are left vague, so it's up to you to decide why he did. |
Some pretty funny moments, too; Mystery Metal Monkey comes to mind, and I loved Negative Man. And the Barrier Trio's final pose.
I give the game 7 thumbs up and an apple pie (a rating scale I just made up). _________________

- Fires the ultra-Mario-Link-Sonic-Samus cannon at Raini - KILL THE PONIES!
Beat The Legendary Starfy some days ago. Was an ok game, but it needed some meaningful collectibles... all you can get is clothes, and those don't even change Starfy's appearance.
Also beat Scurge: Hive. This game is awesome! It's a top-down game inspired by Metroid, which isn't a bad thing. _________________ Hey. I'm Fazermint. And I'm Juicy!

I've been playing Dragon Quest 2 for two weeks. My nephew still hasn't figured out how or why I'm enjoying it. He keeps asking why I'm always walking in circles, and why nobody moves in battles. He didn't believe me when I told him that the original titles of the Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and Phantasy Star series were massive improvements over what rpgs were before them. |

Star Ocean III. Lvl systems that go past 100 can be just as fun as they are annoying. At a part where you HAVE to grind in order to progress, after I spent hours doing so for the heck of it. Got a feeling I'll hate the battle arena soon. |

Was trying to run through Soul Blazer with the first sword and no armor... got fed up on the Three Statues boss when I was one hit away from killing them. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it.
