Didn't seem that way. Both me and my husband were having real issues trying to find where quests were since the map would take us right into world map mode and we'd be like "oh yeah right, so WHERE in Central Thanalan is the damned quest then?"

You can zoom in and out of the map; I did so with the scroll wheel and my cursor in the map pane.

Welp, beta has ended, and with Phase 3 gone, so is all my character data. However, Phase 4 carried on over to early access, which is where I am now, but I got some screens of my character before P3 data was wpied.

I got an eyepatch! I didn't want to give it up for better gear, but I eventually did.

I'm good at posing like a badass with an eyepatch though, maybe I should get one... then I can terrify everyone irl


...uh, I mean, the sunsets in this game are really nice!

aaaaan my character was really short. But Highlander Hyurs are HUGE even at their shortest.

BUT HERE HAVE SOME ALMOST CHEESECAKE because there was no real way to get a good shot of the stars outside of the trees otherwise.

AND GEAR CHANGE, I'm not too archer-y yet.




And now for something different: my 1.0 import Alair. I changed her a little for actual game but I don't think I have any screens of her now.


I have a couple more screens, but none that are uploaded at the moment. I'll try to get some of actual game as well once I log myself back in.

Aww yeah. Picked up a copy at PAX today. Friends and I haven't decided on a server yet, but I'll let you know as soon as we do.

I'd wait until Wednesday - they're going to be adding more servers and expanding server capacity, from what I've been reading. It was more popular than they anticipated.

Friends seem to be jumping on Malboro at the moment, so I'm likely to follow suit.

All righty! After maintenance today, I'll pop on and create a character over there too. So far it's... one on Balmung (Alair Valaias), 2 on Coeurl (Raini Takai, Inferiare Illgaea), and one on Ultros (Caelia Silverarch). I'll likely be putting another on to Balmung when we're able to create characters there again since I'd like to be able to stick with the Free Company and Linkshell I'm in, as well as my fiance joining me there.

It'll either be Malboro or Adamantoise. Maintenance might free up spots on Adamantoise, where one of my friends (the only one to do so so far) has sunk in a few hours.
