Weekly Poll #1: Cats & Dogs

As part of my effort to pump life into this place I'm starting a weekly poll series every Friday. Because people like polls and shite. Just another guaranteed reason to come back and all.

This week, let's start off with a debate argued more heavily than even the infamous Pirates Vs. Ninjas debate from the 2000s era of the internet. Cats or Dogs. I personally prefer cats conceptually, but something about a big dog awakens my inner fiver year old. We currently have a boston terrier... that is not a big dog. It's basically a gerbil who leveled up enough to earn a prestige class in the canine family. She's still a good dog though.

We have two cats as well and they are polar opposites. One is very standoffish. He's basically "I live here with you guys, you feed me and that's it." The other is very very clingy to an almost annoying level. Overall I'd say I'm more a cat person though. Less maintenance, more awesome, even if they are little assholes sometimes.

neither of both. my wife is a vet, so there's already way too much animal in my life. frankly, I can't have a relationship with a non-livestock. I'd rather have a herd of cows or a Chicken posting in this forum again.

Cats. I'm actually afraid of dogs due to being attacked by one when I was a small child. Roommates have a cat who is a total asshole, but he also sees dragons and such.

Story behind that: cat was rescued from heavy drug users who also fed said drugs to the cat. So he has his moments of completely stoned out of his gourd to THERE'S DRAGONS AND SHIT FLYING AROUND I MUST VANQUISH THEM IN THE NAME OF BAST! and goes apeshit. Otherwise he's either the biggest cat asshole or the biggest cuddlebug who sings the song of his people outside your door at 3am because I MISS YOU HUMAN PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ME.

Yay, polls! xD They're great for holding stuff up with! ...o wait no, that's poles. But polls are great too I guess.

So yeah anyway, I voted for cats because I guess I'm more of a cat person than a dog one.

It's not that I don't like dogs. But I get cats more, to a point. I'm not really overly physically affectionate with most people ('cept I do like to hug my mum, aww), but often dogs are rather...touchy feely. (We have a client who brings her dog to visit our office - he always starts trying to jump right into my lap. xD)

Cats are just more cool about enjoying the company of humans.

I'm a total cat person, due to the musical maybe?
I can fall in love with very little cute dogs, though. My barbers dog for example.

On the other hand, my mother's recent cat is really mean to me, and she's not cuddlish at all...

@ Ocie - lots of people don't have a cat OR a dog, some might have some other animal for a pet instead...but you can always define just about anybody as loving cats OR dogs. (I keep wanting to write god...lol)

I myself identify as a catlover...however ever since I can really remember, the only pets we had in the house were guinea-pigs (we did have a cat called Tiger, but tbh I don't really remember him as he died when I was like 3 or 4).
