Alright people, I need your help. I've been trying repeatedly to come up with a good prank to do on someone, but I haven't come up with one that's socially "Responsible." Honestly, the only one I do have is putting instant gelatizer (Turns any fluid into gelatin [Or Jello if you prefer] in about ten minutes) into my cousin's toilet.
So, if you have any ideas for good pranks I can pull (I already sent Bosley information to a balding fellow, haha), or any stories of really good pranks, tell'em here.

Prank Time
"Oh, if you see him coming get away if you can. Just keep on running, run as fast you can. He's a dangerous, dangerous man. And he's out tonight. And he's watching you. And he knows your house. Ki ki ki ma ma ma. No, don't turn out the light. Yeah causes hes back. He's the man behind the mask. And he's out of control." -Alice Cooper

You, mate, are forgetting that pranks are by their very nature not socially responsible. Here are a few time-honored gags:
1. Putting Saran Wrap on the toilet.
2. Slipping hot sauce in somebody's drink.
3. "Spiking the punch"... although it's gotten a bad stigma in this date rape age we live in.
4. Messing with computer macros (i.e. whenever they type their name it says: "fuck you")
5. Changing their desktop background to something truly awful.
6. Changing their homepage to something truly awful.
7. Switching salt and sugar.
8. The old "oregana joint" trick.
9. The old "flour cocaine" trick.
10. If you're truly well supplied, the old "saline heroin" trick.
Any of these are prank gold, if somewhate short. If you are looking for a better result you require a lot more intensive planning. The cup prank that was played on you was I would say a 5 out of 10 of possible prank glory (10 out of 10 being, to be slightly immodest, The Greatest Prank Ever.
There are three elements that are key in a long-term and high-effort prank attempt.
1. The element of surprise.
If they figure out what's going on before it's over, then this is pointless! You will have to be a good actor.
2. The element of realism.
Reaction is everything. If you're tricking somebody into believing that your car has been stolen, then you'd better be panicking instead of going "Oh, buggers, well that's $17,000 I'll never see again."
3. The element of random.
The more random an end result is the better... but only in certain cases. Do not be led astray in the random wagon when a potentially better and more down-to-earth idea presents itself.

You're not supposed to, but everybody does. And then you go fumblind blindly for your towel, trip over the bath mat and crack your shoulder (if you're lucky) on the sink.
Another good prank is a little something I call "the unrequested wake-up call".

on the note of computer-related pranks, just make their entire desktop disappear.
take a screenshot of it, then delete all the shortcuts. (including My Computer and all the others).
then set their background to that screenshot (their old one but with all the icons) then when they try to use something, clicking doesnt do anything.

a friend of mine once wrote an auto-start-script which reboots the computer after 2 seconds
so once the machine is up, its going down again, and again, and again, .... it figures ^^
dont forget the put-your-sleeping-mates-fingers-into-warm-water-prank ^^ works best after a party night (and also stinks the most) XD
as for further pranks: watch HOMEWRECKER with that dude from VIVA LA BAM. he has some pretty good stuff too
