Uh I'm EST, in the USA, and I'm not sure how that relates to GMT. Can anybody fill me in?

GMT is Greenich, England, aka the Prime Meridian.
I am Central Standard (US & Canada) which is GMT -5, so if you're EST, that should make you GMT -4, being one time zone closer to the Prime Meridian than I.

Lol. I just figured that out like two seconds ago, thanks to this website:

I appreciate the post though. I knew what Greenwich Mean Time was, I just didn't know how many time zones were between the Prime Meridian and us.
