There shouldn't have been a bridge burning over a difference of opinions. It shouldn't have even delved into personal attacks and pissing matches, and for that I'm sorely disappointed in all parties involved.

In all honesty, I'm really not the one to be apologizing to. One party HAS apologized, and I'd like to see the rest at least do the same. That would be the ideal outcome.

...I can see that from the thread, thank you, hence why I locked it. But it stemmed from the difference of opinion.

Either way, all parties involved were still at fault, and I stand by that.

Look, I realize that I have a short temper and when it comes to religious debate I am, frankly, ignorant and short-sighted. Maybe you make a good point about how religion causes harm and maybe even your point about brainwashing has some merit.

It's not that I'm completely closed to the scientific mindset, I just tend to believe in my religion more and when people get skeptical about it I tend to get overly defensive.

I realize that I was out of line here and in looking back I probably did start a lot of the tension between us. I'm not making excuses for how I acted, it was petty and childish. I just want you to know that I'm normally not like this. I reccomended against religious debate because I know I can't cope with it and be mature about it, not because I assume others can't.

So I am sorry, Valerie and Ratty who I did shoot at too. I can't back down on the excessive swearing, but I understand where you came from and why you did it.

This community is based on respect. In my opinion, it's not ok to refere to a member, be it resident or n00b or seldom-poster, as "a certain someone".
