I've been playing Star Ocean the Second Story since high school. I have beaten the Cave of Trials, taken down Indalecio Celeste, beaten the hidden boss you fight by playing that melody, beaten the game several time, mastered most of the skill, gotten all characters to level 200+.
Just tinkering around in my emulator I finally discovered the purpose of the Link Combo accessory. I thought it just cut the time between killer moves. I had no idea it let you steal Killer Move slots from your other characters to perform two moves in one. If I hadn't accidentally pressed the triangle button, its purpose would have remained a mystery to me.
You have any moments like this?

I had this game when I was younger called Wing Commander on my snes.
I never could figure that game out honestly until a few weeks ago where I played it and beat it within a day  So I kinda discovered how to play the game :p

It is, but I do prefer the PSP remake. Its good!

Of the Star Oceans I've played I still think Second Story on the PSX is the best. Best story, best gameplay, best music. It's in my top five RPGs. Plus the Replay factor is through the roof since you can choose between two main characters and between 12 playable characters.

Not me, but Maz when I mentioned something in the new game+ for Chrono Cross: "Wait, you can speed up or slow the game down?"
Yep; by hitting the shoulder buttons on the controller.
