...that only took nearly a month later to receive:
Now with corrected image size!
Anyway, what you're seeing is my PAL version Terranigma being played on a PAL SNES on a NTSC TV. No converter. Newer hdmi-capable TVs can convert the signal itself so there's no slowdown or weird liney signal.
My boyfriend is best boyfriend since he got me it as my Christmas gift originally the one he imported was a PAL casing but NTSC motherboard. So we found a cracked one on ebay before Christmas (after he tested my copy of Terranigma on this SNES to no avail and told me my gift) and my "new" gift for Christmad was the reproduction NTSC version of Terranigma (which plays well! I got the the Great Lakes dungeon on that copy) though the cracked PAL SNES was a hopeful thing.
Well, the new actual PAL SNES came in the mail Thursday and sadly, it didn't work on my roommates TV. So testing it on polybob's tv today was an experiment - one that worked, obviously!
So there you have it: I have a working PAL copy of Terranigma that I can now play. Best present ever!! _________________

Some modern TVs can play PAL SNES consoles? NOTING THIS. I've had a PAL copy of Terranigma for several years with no way to play it.
Congratulations!  _________________

@EP: YOU KNOW IT.
@Freedan: oddly, the only expensive part was the SNES. My copy was cheap when I bought it some years ago, but the shipping + cost of the SNES was ~$80 USD after conversion from £50+ shipping.
@Al I. Cuza: we used the Buy It Now option from a British seller, so perhaps that will help in your quest?
@tay: yep! polybob bought his TV in 2011 so I'm guessing my tv I bought in 2010 will work too, but it hasn't been tested. polybob's TV is a Dynex lcd tv, and he just has the a/v cables plugged right in. So now you know you can play it though! _________________

Awesome Christmas present! Wanted to get my hands on a copy for years now. Been thinking about taking the repro route, but Terranigma seems to be up there with Star Fox 2 in being a 100+ repro. Found one site offering it for like 60 once, but I haven't found the site again since. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. Yeah, the best I found was a retro game store in the UK that had a used console for £50, but that still comes out to ridiculous money.
@SBiF: polybob found the repro cart on ebay, they generally aren't TOO bad in pricing. I know I've seen them cheaper than they are at current, but it depends on the seller, I guess. _________________

@psychokind: BEST RESPONSE.
@Fazer: I've played it plenty on emulator, but having the real deal and being able to play it on my TV with my SNES? PRICELESS. Considering I have all three games... _________________
