Yeah that's the problem. Due to ADHD I'm sorta anti-social ... I never had any friends, buddies or whatever at all. I spend the whole 12 years of school by talking to noone 'xcept a few ppl that nerved me or whatever. I never was on a party, nor do I suit into the common 18-year-old role (since I don't drink, don't smoke, and hate most the party-sorta-music. I've got nothing to talk about 'xcept the things I know of. And that's a damn lot of science stuff, computers, algorithmic thinking asoasf. It's just like I wasn't meant to have a private-life. I mean I don't have any real emotions, I've got no experience in social-interaction, I'm shy like shit and occasions for me to leave my home are extremely rare (since I'm the last to be informed if theres something up since noone knows me). Even my "family" has no clue of who I really am ... so I guess it's my fate to die alone.

I used to think it was looks that was most important, but that was when I was single. For the past couple of years, I've had a gf, so that shoots that theory all to hell.

Maybe it's time one girl posted in this thread. (Even though there's none of us on the interweb. Humbug)...

Basically, it all comes down to personality. I'd be with a 'loser' as long as he's a compassionate, funny, and has intelligence / substance in his thinking. A guy with grey matter is a necessity.

What I hate is an overconfident and annoyingly machismo idiot that needs to get kicked in the nuts and prevented from procreating.

But eh. That's just my opinion.

Yeah most girls define men as uber-machismo, selfish beings that have only one thing in mind: the "f" word. That's funny since I actually know a load of women that actually hit this sorta definition too. So it gotta be hard to find a thing all gurls'n'guys want.

They want different type of guys on different occasions/times...

And not all the typical-18-years-old-things like smoking, drinking etc. are bad, f.ex. I don't drink because everyone drinks, I drink because I want to, because I like the taste of beer/etc., and I only drink when it "fits".

I usually don't smoke like all the addicts, but if it comes to taste, I may make exceptions.

Drinking/smoking/trying to hit on girls is part of what I want, thats why I do it.I can have fun without drinking/etc., but its "different fun".

If you're like me, but don't have ADHD there's only one other psychic disorder explaining one like me ... and that's called borderline personality. ADHD ppl tend to drug abuse, since it somehow makes us feel normal ('though I'm clean since I was born and didn't even take the ritalin from the doctor) ... or to loneliness, coz we think different, feel different and act different than those not having ADHD and it tells and so makes contact between hunters (ADHD) and farmers (no ADHD) hard.

The Symptoms telling a doctor that you're a hunter are uncontrolled hyperactivity, easy disatraction by sounds, voices aso, problems in social interaction, problems at school, or extreme easy school passing (I for example never had any folders, nor did I learn, but still was able to pass highschool with "good" at the end coz I was interested in most things the teachers tried to teach us), the tunnel-effect (an effect of total emotionlessness in which an ADHD person fully concentrates on a certain topic), general emotionlessness or problems on identification of several emotions, IQ around 130 in normal and around 145 in concentration mode (mine is 128(n)-147(c) for example) and an unusually high productivity and tranqility in stressful situations. Because most hunters are never given a chance to integrate into normal social life we also tend to personality disorders or other psychic disorders.

You can't infect with or otherwise get ADHD all of a sudden since the illness consists of two components: the genetic component which causes a defect in the dopamin metabolism and the psychic component which is "triggered" by a lack of attention, love aso in childhood. That's why ADHD can suddenly break out in the family that had no breakout for ages, since it needs the psychic component to "activate".

Me, I prefer to go with people with a striking personality. That always gets to me and makes me inclined to stick with that person through hard times.
