Tournament Hall of Fame- Here
Match Hall of Fame- Here
RP PunchUp Arena Rules
(last update stated at bottom of post)
- No "god mode" abilities. Penalties for God-Moding
- Everyone has at least one weakness.
- No ignoring other posters. That's dumb, and defeats the whole purpose.
- Guns always do less damage than swords
- No more than one action per post (each post = 1 turn) You can use one defending and one attacking in one turn.
- No double posting!
- No guaranteed hit attacks
- You can be resistant to 1 element only (IE: "I am resistant to fire")
- Summoning a creature takes up an entire turn
- The number you can summon is limited (Limit is now 3 creatures)
- When you perform an action, you, yourself, may -not- declare that the target is dead.
- Three direct attacks counts a KO
- You can regain conscience after 5 posts (turns)
- Two (2) KOs will result in death
- To revive from death another person must revive you.
- You may not change anything to your character during a battle (within a topic) unless given permission ahead of time. (Like as adding a resistance to fire or introducing a new attack or defense.)
Even then, you will have to announce your change in the topic to which it applies and it will take effect after that announcement. Posts before your announcement are never affected by the change.
- Special rules (such as curtain powers and/or facts that belong with the topic of the PunchUp [IE: Battle Royal] )must be stated in the first post of the PunchUp (the topic creator's post)! All other rules may be discarded
- All default rules (this list) will be in effect unless stated otherwise in the first post for the PunchUp
- Posts/actions in violation of any of the rules can be reported to a mod or admin to be deleted from the PunchUp
- A suggestion for change of the rules can be submitted to Jason Tandro, Valerie Valens, rainichan or eFlare, we will review your case.
Regarding Non-Action Posts: You may declare any post a Non-Action Post so long as your character in the Punch-Up does not make any action of any kind. This is reserved merely for you, the poster, rather than you the character making a comment about what has transpired or asking for clarification of an attack. Non-Action Posts do not count towards charge/reload times or area of effect times.
The standard way of declaring this is using this:
---NON-ACTION POST---
Code: | :!:---NON-ACTION POST---:!: |

Types of RP Punch-Ups
Tournaments
Tournaments will be varied competitions of skill with varying rules.
Tournaments will be held every three months.
Tournaments will award monetary prizes and hall of fame inductions.
Free Punch-Up
The same amount of care should be taken with free punch-ups as with tournaments, except not bogged down by the boring “planning” aspect.
These should be the meat of the forum.
Duels
Want to settle it once and for all? Want to figure out which of you is better. You can now challenge another player to a duel! Others may comment and witness, but the only attackers recognized will be the two dueling.
Team Battles
Get a team together and take on your opponents in all-out war!
Battle Royale
RP Punch-Ups written in a story format with a definite map. Creative and crazy combat.
TerraEarth Anniversary Punch-Up Pack!
Every TerraEarth birthday will, from this point forward, have an anniversary RP Punch-Up Event consisting of:
An duel between the two chosen warriors.
A free-for-all tournament
A specially themed free punch-up. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Hall of Fame- Tournaments
The Tournament of the Demon Claw
Creator: Jason Tandro
1st Place: Joan-Michele (Valerie Valens)
2nd Place: Chicken
The Tournament of the Demon Claw is a tournament that started April 12, 2007 and lasted until April 20, 2007. This tournament was special admission only. Competitors had to purchase an Iron Fist from Jason Tandro, who was the head judge and creator of the tournament.
In the heated fight that lasted eight days, Joan-Michele reigned supreme, with chicken very close behind. Deathpit took third place and Axe Kazama was an honorable mention.

The Ghost Lands Tournament
Creator: Jason Tandro
1st Place: Arashi
2nd Place: EverPhoenix
The Ghost Lands Tournament was a total flop, most likely due to over-complicating factors and attempting to make the RP Punch-Up too organized. It serves as a haunting reminder of what happens when certain people become to officious.

Hall of Fame- Matches
The RP Punch-Up
Creator: Jason Tandro
Victor: Flamez
The epic battle between good, evil and awesome went from a flooded Arena, to a battle in the sky with Red Riotz and finally a dramatic showdown in the Moderator Castle.
The RP Punch-Up 2
Creator: Jason Tandro
Victor: Lenc and tay120n64
The short-lived romp in the city of Euro ended abruptly and resulted in a tied victory. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Just something to add in here: for those unfamiliar with the term "God mode", you can find a wiki article here.
Also, I do think (and mods and eFlare, feel free to agree/disagree to have this amended into the rules) that anyone reported god moding or otheriwse be disqualified from tournaments? _________________

That would be boring if we just disqualified them. I say that if we find someone God-Moding, we'll just be bastard GMs from hell for a while, and only disqualify them if they still haven't gotten the message after a set number of posts. _________________
