How do you become a resident?

Hey, I just thought I'd ask how to become a resident. Because if I'm here for a long amount of time, I may want to become one.

You know, this community of us, it has been stable and lasting for so long now...
When I'm on a regular forum, everyone is just some random person over the internet. But on TerraEarth, it's like I'm chatting with friends...(that I haven't met in RL).
TerraEarth is our second home.

...to your question: becoming a resident means that you're becoming a member of the family. If you stay long enough, if you're active, if you "fit in", you can become one.

BUT! Don't see becoming a resident as your main purpose to be on this forum. Beeing a resident has nothing to do with elitism, we're open minded to everyone who joins TerraEarth and tread him nice.

Many people who join the board leave soon after, since it's not as active around here as it used to be. Don't feel bad if you decide to leave the forum because of that.

Becoming a resident is something natural...it takes time, so give it time, and don't enforce it by....dunno...spamming every thread.

EDIT: I think a small step would be to tell us something about you...from where are you, your age...

You know, when I joined years ago, I read through a few thread, and I saw how close this community is, and I KNEW I wanted to stay here and become a part of it...and I stood and stood and stood...and though I said "I'm leaving" a few times, I always got back somehow

I don't think I could have worded it better than Blade, myself. Resident status means for us here that you're becoming part of our family. We used to have it set for when you hit a set amount of posts (500 or 700, something like that), and you'd be able to access the private forums, and you'd get resident status.

Now, it's more based on not how often you post (though that has some basis, since a lot of us are active all the time), but how you feel about getting close to a lot of the faceless people you meet here. As Blade said, it's like a second home. One day, I'd love to go visit each and every one of my TerraEarth family members. We're a close group, but we like to expand our family as well. We usually deliberate on things as well, like a family discussion. We get along with you, you get along with us, all is well.

Indeed, it all boils down to how close you are to the community. We welcome all friendly faces though.
