With the latest addition, hystericmoon, TerraEarth Forums now has 250 registered members!
However...
Only 45 members have made more than 50 posts.
Only 155 members have made more than 1 post.
Only 181 members have made any posts.
And only like, what, 20 of us are actually active? _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Welcome to the future! Where almost all internet forums are ghost towns.
It's true - in most internet forums, the same thing happens. Out of however many members are currently registered to the forum, usually somewhere between 5-20% of them are active.
It follows the, I think the name of it is, The Pareto Principle (the 80-20 rule) - in this case being that 20% of the members produce 80% of the forum activity; well, more like 10% of the members and about 98% of the activity, but you get the drift. _________________

I'm the 20th highest poster on the board? Cool.
And yeah, I agree - new members only count if they sizably contribute. I don't get the point of people who register and then never even sign in.
I mean, looking at the 69 members who have no posts to their name, there's a whole bunch of 'em who registered back in 2005 and another lot from 2007.
On a couple of other forums I used to frequent, they actually instituted a minimum post-rate limit - which was entirely reasonable; failure to make at least ONE post in the first month results in instant deletion.
Just an idea..... ^.^;;; _________________

no, what you mean is the POWER-LAW-PRINCIPLE. the PARETO PRINCIPLE would say, that we have e.g. a cake and you cannot have more of the cake if i dont get less.

yea i never really got the point of registering in a forum when you dont really want to post stuff... support forums are something different, i have already done that once or twice because some of them need you to be registered to see KEY INFORMATION LIKE THE ACTUAL SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM YOU WERE GOOGLEING _________________

Well I think it has something to do with the fallout of the last time the site wnet down- members like Aoiga who had a ton of posts lost those. If I remember correctly, I had almost over a thousand before the forum crash. It is also safe for me to assume we had 250 members before that crash, or close to that number. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. I like it as a small community.
You can get to know people a lot better, and it's a lot cozier. =D _________________ Whenever there's light, there are shadows.
