I read about that yesterday.
I think it's kind of funny too. I mean, yeah... racism... but no one was hurt. There was no serious hating. It was probably just some idiot that managed to hijack the loudspeaker. _________________

Well, on the upside, nobody was actually hurt physically .... on the downside, I'd say Wal-Mart needs to seriously check it's security measures from top to bottom, because I'm hoping that none of the staff would be idiotic enough to make an announcement like that, meaning it must've been somebody else who got past security into the employees-only part of the store and said that.
But seriously, boycotting the store for what is almost certainly a prank in very bad taste by someone entirely *unconnected* with the store (and is quite possibly deliberately out to cause trouble for WM, too)? What's that gonna achieve in the long run?
But yeah, like others here, too much time on the internet leaves me mostly unfazed about this. _________________

Actually, it's real easy, no hacking required. My Target store you can access the loudspeaker system from any phone in the building with a two number code. I imagine Walmart has a similar system. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. Really? I didn't know it was that easy to do...maybe I should try that out.
O darn, we don't have Wal-Marts over here. :p _________________

You silly English-types and your lack of Wal-Marts and your London Zoos and your tea times and your Stonehenge and your long hair and your rock'n'roll... _________________

I don't understand why a silly "highschool prank" (which is probably what it was) makes the news.
It's so obvious that it wasn't an official Walmart announcement. Anybody who considers hating the company Walmart because of that statement should think twice; it's ridiculous.
Of course the statement itself is not at all acceptable, it's hardly a giant genuine offense. If the announcement was "All while people, leave" it wouldn't even made the news. _________________ ... Yes indeedy. We doesn't has Wal-Marts, but we do have ASDA, which are owned by Wal-Mart I think. I've never actually been to London Zoo, even on a day-trip with my school. I thought that was meant to be the quintessential school day out? :p
Tea? Ugh, no thanks....I much prefer my drinks to be fizzy (though my sister loves her cuppa tea a lot), like Coke, Pepsi, or Irn Bru (made with real iron girders - srsly! ).
And I *wish* I still had long hair. My 58-year old dad actually has more hair than me these days, and he's been going bald for over 20 years. >_> _________________

I actually visited England for a bit. Though I spent most of my time in London, I also did not visit the Zoo. Which is funny, because I was expecting too beforehand.
However, I did get to see the British Museum, so in the end it was all worth it.
Out of all the places I've been, I think I'd like to revisit England most. _________________

So it looks like it was just some 16-year-old kid that hijacked the loudspeaker.
My guess? He did it for the lulz, so he can brag to his buddies at school about how he showed all them black people a thing or two.
Because racism makes you edgy, you know. _________________

Oh yeah. All the cool kids are doing it.
I love the "I'm assuming this person didn't realize how hurtful his comments were" part. Blaming everything on ignorance. I think he most likely just didn't care about it. _________________ ... That stood out to me, too.
"Didn't realize..."? He's not a child, he's 16. He knew exactly what he was doing.
And they want him to take 'sensitivity' training so he realizes how mean he was? Does anyone honestly think a 16-year-old guy cares about any of that?
He's 16. He cares about playing music too loud, underage drinking, smoking pot and, apparently, racism. See how much good that sensitivity training does. _________________
