Up to date track of the Cup
Yes friends, for a person who as little as a week ago pronounced that he did not care about the World Cup I've found that it's actually quite exciting!
Then USA lost to Ghana and I wanted to rip my hair out.
But! I have resolved to spread the joy of the season to all. Here you can place bets on games or simply talk about the matches!
One step closer to building my evil casino empire!
Er, nothing! Anyways, have fun!
For me it was all about watching the US, which was doing pretty good for a while, but as I said, losing to Ghana actually bugged me. I guess I'm just backing the other "home teams": Netherlands, Germany, etc. Although I think Brazil is gonna win this year... but then again that's kind of like betting the Yankees will win the World Series.
Current Bets:
---
Maximum Bet: 400 Gems
Monday, June 28 Games
Netherlands (2:1) v. Slovakia (3:1)
[My money is on the Netherlands ]
Brazil (2:1) v. Chile (4:1)
[I honestly don't think Chile has a chance.]
Tuesday, June 29 Games
Paraguay(2:1) v. Japan (2:1)
[I've never seen either team play, so I'll give even odds on both.]
Spain (2:1) v. Portugal (3:1)
[Gotta give the edge to Spain].
(example payout (2:1). bet 300, win 600.)
---
The Final 16
Uruguay
South Korea (eliminated)
Ghana
United States (eliminated)
Netherlands
Slovakia
Brazil
Chile
Germany
England (eliminated)
Mexico
Argentina
Paraguay
Japan
Spain

4-1. That's a pretty sizable win!
I hope Uruguay takes Ghana down. That'll learn you to have a better team than us!
Argentina is destroying Mexico right now! 2-0! Keep it up! _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Way to go Netherlands, Germany and Argentina! All my teams ('cept US)
are in the Final 8!!!
And what a rough bunch of games ahead... Netherlands vs. Brazil... I gotta give the edge to Brazil based on their track record.
Uruguay and Ghana. I hope Uruguay wins, just to spite Ghana XD
Argentina versus Germany... That's gonna be a close game, but I'm pretty sure Germany will win.
Paraguay and Spain... eh... I don't really care, but I guess if I had to bet I'd go with Spain. Mainly because I can locate Spain on a map.
The Final 8
Uruguay
Ghana
Netherlands
Brazil
Argentina
Germany
Paraguay
Spain _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

Not betting here, but back in April (on the day of the Grand National), I put an actual bet on the football, for:
Germany to win the World Cup at 7/1 and
Italy to win the European Nations Cup (2012) at 14/1. For £1.
If both those teams win those titles, I win £120...in July 2012, when it shall be worth approximately 2p. _________________

Go Netherlands! Even though you beat the team that I figured would win, you're still one of my top 3!
It goes like this:
1. Germany
2. Netherlands
3. Argentina
And I'm so glad Uruguay won!!! That'll learn you Ghanans for... uh... beating the US in a friendly game of football! _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

I have to be honest, I didn't think Spain would pull it off. My money was set right on Germany until they choked in the Quarter Finals.
You guys did a good job... especially considering how much the Netherlands were fouling. What were there like 9 Yellow Cards? _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.
