A poem I wrote on the fly. A little darker than what I'm used to writing, but then again... the best inspiration can sometimes come from that well. Let me know what you think.


Untitled

I feel myself sinking,
Ever into a darkness,
I find myself thinking,
Why all this emptiness?

Great wide world, open and free
Wonderous green, ocean blue,
Darkness inside of me,
Ground stained in a red hue.

The woods, at day
Calm, if not dreary
Darkness there at night they say
Alive it comes, all too clearly.

The man stands there, tall.
His face a mask, not real.
The truth in which he will stall
Broken is the dark seal.

Beneath the face, a truth
The boy inside will fall.
The man who came, the sleuth;
The boy comes crying for the owls call.

The savior not the one you think,
Only man, seeking peace.
The dark man with rotten stink,
Comes for his innocent niece.

There be not a Joker,
Only a King
The man who be the smoker,
Died today from the same thing.

So darkness came and went,
The town quiet once more
The savior lost in his decent
For the girl who was once the whore.

I used to write poetry... alot of it very poor in quality. While I'm not saying this is great or anything, it certainly needs work, some stronger rhythm, I'm definitely happy with it.
