Same here. Heard about it on Saturday, and everyones now saying it's gonna be the "Facebook Killer."

psycho: New social networking site from Google, still in beta.

          | The biggest innovation is the ability to +1, basically "Like" anything that you search on google and you have the most advanced privacy controls I've ever seen. You can determine who sees what for EVERYTHING. _________________

          | too bad there's no "allow google to store all your data y/n" privacy control I'm curious to see if it kills facebook like facebook killed StudiVZ or myspace. best way would be the "dislike" button, that's the most needed invention in the internet atm. _________________

          | i refuse to believe google+ will actually KILL fb. its far too big for that already. i know, myspace was quite huge too, before it got nuked by zuckerberg but this is something different. you werent able to interact so much with your friends like you are on FB.
and as psycho said: i'd rather have my data sold (its actually not like i really notice it anyway) than give it to google.

 and about privacy control:
its not like FB doesnt have that feature, jason. actually, i tweaked it so nobody who isnt FB-friend with me can see... uh, NOTHING except my profile pic. apart from that, even some of my "friends" on FB can see NOTHING except my info. they cannot write on my wall, see status updates or comment on them, cannot see photos, etc.
anything you need to tweak is possible so please, im really interested, tell me what more privacy control does google+ provide?

Everything is based around circles, extended circles or public. I can control on every individual item of information down to the person who sees what. Sure on FB my Friends can see all my Wall Posts, but you can't control which friends see any given individual wall post. Google+ Provides that and makes it simple and easy to use.

It'll take years for Google+ to kill FB, and considering that FB keeps reorganizing for no good reason they'll more than likely kill themselves first.

I hope so. Facebook needs to die.

... Still not sold on Google plus though. I have too much social networking accounts as it is. >.>

          | Google plus is trying to merge youtube and gmail and make it all one thing. Honestly about ready to give up on google accounts altogether, at least till it's more organized in the future with the 'one account for all' they seem to be going for. Don't exactly appreciate them assigning my school gmail to regulate the personal one, granted it's nothing but junk mail :p Still goes to show, google altogether is currently full of durp. Google+ itself ain't bad but I'm sitting this one out till google gets itself together. It's one huge unnecessary mess. | |
