I'm sure most of the people on here are either currently employed or have held a job in the past. I'm just curious about which shift you like the best, A, B, or C.
I'm not sure how it works in other countries, so let me explain it:
A- Morning Shift. (7:00 AM- 3:00 PM (where I work))
B- Evening Shift. (3:00 PM- 11:00 PM)
C- Graveyard Shift. (11:00PM- 7 AM)
The actual hours aren't really important, but the question here is what shift would you like the do the most. Some of the Pros and Cons of each (as I have ample experience in all three and currently work the B shift at one job and alternate B and C at my other one (and I've worked occassional A shifts all around)).
A Shift- Morning
Pros: Get work out of the way so you can relax and enjoy your evening, the most "normal" shift.
Cons: You have to get up early and you can't party too late in the evening.
B Shift- Evening
Pros: You get to sleep in and have time to do stuff during the morning when most places (like bill places) are open.
Cons: You spend the entire morning dreading the afternoon and by the end of your shift you're dead.
C Shift- Graveyard
Pros: Usually a quiet shift and most places generally pay more money to C Shifters.
Cons: You are the walking dead for eight hours, even with your precious "sleep patterns", and you can't do anything during the standard "party" hours.
While I work a C Shift, I have to say the best shift of all of these is the B Shift. You can party late, sleep-in and not have to worry about anything pretty much. _________________ Current Avatar commissioned work by Seiken Arts.

I've got a combined A/B shift. :/ It really sucks. I close my desk at work, so I don't get out of there until 5 or 6 at night, depending on the day. I tend to like going in a little later to get things done, but it doesn't always work that way. _________________

I'm unemployed, but I help at our guesthouse, where its an A shift. But since I listen to music from my mp3 player all the time, its quite ok. |

i work nightfill, so its a cross between B and C. usual hours can be 7-12, so i guess its more B.
i voted B, not due to bias (im not overly fond of my job)
A means you'll most likely have to deal with people, which can range from monotonous to plain unpleasant
and C means you miss out on sleep. precious sleep. _________________

I work an A shift (7:30 - 4:30). I think I prefer it that way. I'm not much of a morning person, but I'd rather get work out of the way so I can have the evening free.
I would hate a B shift. You can sleep in, but the hours are staggered so it starts early enough in the day and ends late enough at night where you can't really do much else during the day.
Never worked a C shift, and I probably wouldn't want to. Quiet shifts would be nice, but I don't think I could get used to the messed up sleep schedule. _________________

Went with B. Of course, I usually work regular day shift, but any time I have a few days w/o work, I seem to naturally glide into that sleep schedule. Had a job for a year once working 5 PM to 1 AM, and, by god, I loved that shift. Just have to get up early if you need to conduct business with any regular 9 to 5 establishments. Good ol' days~... _________________ Overwhelmed with gestalt possibilities... |

For a little over a year I had Evening Shift, and now, since I'm the Boss-Man (I'm a Robot Master!) I have Morning Shift.
And boy, does it take getting used to. But I do like it much better. I have more time in the day to do stuff. _________________

Graveyard, but we in the "biz" refer to it as Overnight. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. Although I don't have a job because there are no jobs to be found around me, I would have to work the Evening shift because of that pesky High School Education that I've got to finish up on. _________________ Touch it and Die
