Its All Going To Hell...

I can't remember as much bad happenings in my town than whats been going on or the last two weeks. We had a robbery not five minutes from my house at a local deli. Then the deli around the corner from my house was robbed.

A house down the street burned down, mother and daughter both killed. Suspected arson.

A few months back there was a stabbing at the Bed Bath and Beyond where my two sisters work.

I think when I worked at the gamestore I was nearly robbed (Two suspicious guys walked in and asked if "I was alone," one had his hand shoved deeply into his coat and was quite shifty-looking)

This past Thursday I read a girl went missing from our towns library.

Then, this morning, I read a four year old shot a six year old in the face with a gun two towns over.

Whats this all mean? I need to get the hell out of Jersey. Where, I do not know, but things only seem to be getting worse.

Do you have relatives outside Jersey that able to help you settle down? Your best bet is get out of the state ASAP if it's your life may be next.

A small town 10-30 minutes distance from a city should be safe choice to move in. Perhaps try Pennsylvania or Maryland? Or go north to Connecticut?

this sounds bad. if i were you, and if i was "afraid" something might happen to me or the people i care about, i'd see to get outta town ASAP. trying to find a new job, a new place to live, new friends eventually.
at least that sounds better than being mugged or even worse...

That's pretty nasty. I'm with the others - you need to find a new area. The sooner the better.

Quiet areas would probably be better.

Either that, or give Batman a call.

that's really gross for sure. I would definitely try an area outside of Jersey, but close enough (1-2 hour drive for friends/family) so you're not away from people you care for. Hopefully the curse of NJ doesn't apply to you.

that's the combustive agent on the ongoing ghettoization of the cities, but hopefully we'll get good gladiator fights in prison-like ghost-towns out of this

I actually know the guy who got held up. Nice young guy with a kid. This only furthers my desire to get the hell out of here as soon as possible.

It means the world is a messed up place. There's a lot of desperate, greedy, and mentally unstable people in the world. If it's so bad where you live that you're fearing for your own safety I would suggest moving out if you can afford it to a more quieter area. Cities and towns just outside of cities tend to get it worse from what I've witnessed. I now live in a town that's only a couple of short villages away from the hills and is about 4 or 5 towns away from the major city. Just far enough from civilization to not get any hassle and close enough to civilization to have a decent network connection and local shops so that I don't get bored.

Lol, yup. I live in a completely backwater town and while it may be boring, its also quiet and peaceful. The town i used to live in wasn't even that big of a city, but it was big enough that its become a slum.
