How many of you saw the movie? What did you think?
I thought it was alright - not a bad movie by any means, but the least compelling Spiderman movie I've seen in a while. Especially after No Way Home, which was always going to be exceptionally difficult to beat.
Huge spoilers ahead.
So the trailer showed a bunch of cool stuff, plus The Hand. As someone who really enjoyed the Daredevil show, I was hyped to see some red ninjas again, especially with the Punisher around. That turned out to be rather disappointing as they basically had just the one fight scene and were just a bunch of random kids, no lore or intrigue or anything.
As an antagonist, Jean Grey didn't feel at all like she fit Spiderman. The whole possession gimmick felt super out of place, and it gave me the vibe that it was just an excuse to backdoor some X-Men into the MCU.
Peter's internal conflict regarding MJ and the effects of the spell cast at the end of NWH were done really well, I just wish that the main conflict was different. Then again I'm not really well versed in comic lore, so the story could very well be lore accurate. I guess I was expecting The Hand to have a more prominent role as the antagonists, rather than just be a Chekov's Gun who exist just for one cool fight scene at the end. _________________

nope. it's been such a long time since I went to the cinema, I think Dune 2 was the last movie. I would loved to have seen street fighter or mortal combat, but I can't find anyone to go to the cinema anymore. most people I know (including myself) have been burned by marvel slop and woke nonsense unfortunately. _________________

That's valid, a lot of my friends have stopped going to the movies and just catch stuff on streaming when it inevitably hits.
Would have loved to see Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter as well, but I missed one and still have to wait for the other... _________________
