I've been inspired by Jason's thought-provoking questions, so I decided to come up with one of my own:
If you had information from the future, say you knew someone you loved was going to end the world, and there was no way to stop it but ending their life, what would you do? _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. It's also a completely different way of living when you know that...a different species of person." - Lana Del Rey

Hmm... on one hand, the world goes kaput. On the other hand, the world is probably going to go kaput in the next 100 years anyway.
Seriously, when it's the life of one person vs. the world - even when that person is a loved one - I don't think there IS much of a choice.
Not that I'd be happy about it, mind you. |

It really depends in my opinion, would it be intentional on their part? Or no?
If so, then I'd really see little choice. If not ... well ... then I don't know whether or not I would actually stop them I guess. _________________ It's high time I revised this signature. |

I'd stop them so I could rule the world, what else?
...ok, seriously though, I would stop them. One person's life vs. everyone's life... it's better for one to die than a good 7 billion people. _________________

I'd definitely stop the person. Maybe death isn't exactly required in said situation. Perhaps detaining the person from whatever he/she was planning on doing.
Now if that person's very existence or vital signs were the key, probably kill that person, maybe give them Digitalis Beta just to put them in a near death state. _________________ "That which invokes my rage and great, furious anger shall turn to a raging nuclear sea of fire!" |

this person sure got his/her reasons to put an end to the world... maybe because otherwise we would suffer to death because of... well i dunno, bush gets re-elected another time even though he mustnt...
anyway, i'd first listen to the reason, then decide but i sure wouldnt pull off a hero-saves-the-world-acrbatic-killing-spree or something _________________

Well, whatever the case. I hope it turns into some sort of adventure like Terranigma. That'd be pretty bad ass.
Oh man, now I've got to write a story based on that thought. _________________ "That which invokes my rage and great, furious anger shall turn to a raging nuclear sea of fire!" |

I may not like it, but I definitely would shuffle the loved one from the mortal coil. |

Na, I'd rather kill a beloved one than see him the rest of his life in such a state.
I'd do it (easy to say that), but maybe I'd get rid of such a burden by killing myself. I think killing myself is easier than killing a beloved one. Lame, but still an option. |

If the person's bent on destroying the world with a angry intent rather than on accident or occurrence, then kill them. _________________ "That which invokes my rage and great, furious anger shall turn to a raging nuclear sea of fire!" |

Well, the reason I asked was because I was recently reading into some Criminology for a story I've been working on. Ted Kacyzinski, the Unabomber, was only caught after his brother made a startling connection between Ted and some of what Unabomber had written to police. _________________ "...at first it's fine and you think you have a dark side – it's exciting – and then you realise the dark side wins every time if you decide to indulge in it. Hm I wouldn't do anything against it. Why should I? The world is going to end someday anyway, so I would just take the chance to make the last ones the best hours of my entire life . _________________ AtW Studios
